Samantha & Cameron
Hey babe! Thanks for chatting to us about your sensational wedding day!! What a stunning location, and colour palette! We're obsessed. Alright, let's dive in!
Bride & Groom’s full names? Samantha Ford (Caird) and Cameron Ford
Where do you live? Auckland
How did you met? We met the modern way with a swipe right. We had a lot of mutual friends and one of Samantha’s best friends was eager for a date to happen. From the day we met we have been inseparable.
Marriage to us means...? The joining of two people who love each other unconditionally with endless strength, commitment and a dedication to taking on the world together until the day they pass.
Talk us through the proposal? Langs Beach on Anzac day. Cam had organised a nice romantic cliff walk/picnic in Mangawhai where he had plans to pop the question. Samantha, who was fully embracing the walk, didn't want to stop at the small cove Cam had chosen for the big moment, and insisted they keep walking. It wasn’t long before all available cove’s had been walked past and Cam went into full blown panic mode but still Samantha powered on. It was only when Cam faked an ankle injury to get Samantha’s attention and popped the question she finally stopped – the answer of course a big yes.
Tell us a little bit about your overall aesthetic/styling for the day? Contemporary modern in an outdoor mountainesque environment.
What were your sources of inspiration? Any must follow accounts, blogs, Pinterest pages? etc. Nothing in particular, I just saved a lot of random images and accounts on Instagram...once you start looking you get fed a lot of images you may like or accounts to follow which is helpful.
What was your first dance song? ‘You Make My Dreams Come True (Acoustic Cover)’ by Tim Halperin
A memorable moment? The moment in time you step out to walk down the aisle.
Any advice for our brides-to-be? Try to not sweat the small stuff.
What was the process like working with Leave Her Wilder and purchasing your gowns online for your bridesmaids? It was super easy and smooth. I can't fault it. LHW were so lovely and accommodating. They took the time to understand my vision and the type of environment I was getting married in. For me the fabric sample pack really helped me to bring to life what I was seeing online and choose my colours.
Tell us a little more about your bridesmaids! I initially was supposed to have 4 but Covid didn't allow one of them to get into NZ so I ended up with 3. LHW were so empatic and supportive throughout this uncertain time and they really helped to take some of the stress away. All 3 girls had styles they felt super comfortable in thanks to LHW showcasing such a variety of different shapes and sizes of women. They could all envision one of LHW dresses suiting them. My bridesmaids were all so confident in the styles they chose which was such a relief and made it an easy process for me knowing I could make everyone happy with what they were wearing.
How did the Leave Her Wilder gowns fit and drape? what did you think of the hand-dyed and 100% natural fabric? Stunning. The colour was absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. I love the look and feel of the hand-dyed 100% natural fabric and the fit was perfect to the measurements we supplied. Couldn't recommend the dresses enough.
What were your bridesmaids thoughts & comments on the gowns they chose/wore? The girls told me how happy they were to have bridesmaid dresses that felt so nice to wear and they were really comfortable throughout the day and night. They all said it would be a dress they would wear again which was really great to hear as I wanted to give the girls a beautiful dress that they would want to wear again.
Thanks, babe! So lovely to chat & Congrats on your wedding day and starting this exciting new chapter! We're so thrilled you chose Leave Her Wilder to be part of your special day. xx
