Where do you live? Sydney, Australia

How you met? We met through a mutual friend back in the UK 16 years ago. I was looking for a lift home and Shane asked if I wanted to "go for a drive" the rest is history!

Marriage to us means...? The ultimate commitment between two people- who love each other dearly and want to navigate through this weird and wonderful life together forever

Talk us through the proposal? We were on holidays on Hamilton Island. After 13 years together Saliya had an in-cling Shane would do it on this holiday but the moment took her by complete surprise. Shane and Saliya headed on a bush walk to a secluded beach. little did Saliya know Shane was carrying extra cargo (the ring) and two bags (one with Dom Perignon on ice). We were having a normal afternoon at the beach having a swim in the sea when Shane got out of the water as said he wanted to get the go pro camera. He was taking ages so Saliya got out of the water only to find he had put on their favourite band (Holy Holy) and set up a bottle of champs. Saliya said wow you've got a bottle of Champagne to which Shane replied "That's not all i've got" and he pulled out THE most beautiful platinum diamond ring.

Tell us a little bit about your overall aesthetic/styling for the day? what were your sources of inspiration? Any must follow accounts, blogs, Pinterest pages?
We wanted our day to be a reflection of us. Relaxed, romantic, with a sense of adventure and travel threaded through it. Many of the vendors we used served as inspo (Pia & Jade, Danger & Moon, Leave her wilder :))

What was your first dance song?
Stars by Simply red

A memorable moment?
The moment Shane saw Saliya was pretty special. Saliya was unable to have her mum walk her down the aisle due to border closures so walked alone and was greeted by a raucous applause from their guests (it was pretty special).

Any advise for our brides-to-be? Choose vendors wisely, if you are working with a dream team who really know what they are doing the day will run itself. Also there will always be little hiccups on the day and that's fine (e.g. realising you ordered the wrong type of rum for the signature cocktails on the morning of the wedding) - just roll with it!

What was the process like working with Leave Her Wilder and purchasing your gowns online for your bridesmaids?
The process was smooth and the LHW team were super helpful in the process. At the time of ordering I had 2 bridesmaids in the UK who were supposed to be attending. We got the dresses ordered early so I could transport them back to the UK and they could get alterations. From sending through measurements, agreeing on sizing and getting the dresses made the process was seamless

Tell us a little more about your bridesmaids. How did the Leave Her Wilder gowns fit and drape?
what did you think of the hand-dyed and 100% natural fabric? What were your bridesmaids thoughts & comments on the gowns they chose/wore? I went for the mismatched look for our bridesmaids all in wine colour but different styles (Ziggy and Phoenix). I let my bridesmaids pick a style that complimented their body shape which was a great plus and they all picked a style they would feel comfortable in. The dresses were gorgeous quality and just perfect for the look I wanted!
